Why would anyone leave their 4 yr old alone to fend for himself each day?

Dear Reader,

It is a privilege to share this story of 4-year-old, Shamzy from Sr Gio with you. His is a story of kindness, dignity, safety, hope and friendship in a context of desperation, poverty, insecurity and abandonment.

Each day he has been left alone in their village, roaming around and relying on the kindness of his neighbours, while his single mum is forced to go out, struggling to find ways to feed her 4 children.

Just let that sink in. Can we really even imagine what that level of poverty is like? Not being able to protect and nurture your little one each day?

One of our teachers warmly reached out to him and his mum in December to invite him to kindy. Now he is safe and nurtured during the day and he is enjoying his newfound healthy meal, fun friendships, games, songs and lessons.

The teachers can only make this beautiful offer to kids like Shamzy, and struggling mums like his, because of the generosity of our Project Kindy Village.

Thank you for the ways you help us to continue this work.

Kind regards

Dear Reader, Read the full blog article about our Deeper Dreams for 2022 here January 18 was a milestone and a half! I got to press 'send' on the first donation of it's size for our kindergartens in Malawi. Normally, I get to send around $24 000 for the kids' lunches, staff wages and food for the volunteers for the year. This year, due to the growth of our Australian Village, we donated $45 200! What a substantial upgrade! This is on top of the 2 new classrooms and 4 new wells we achieved in...
